Yesterday’s boundary conversations reinforced for me that boundaries are healthy and good, not selfish or uncaring. Boundaries are the ultimate “self-care” and prioritizing oneself is vital for a full and happy life.
During this COVID pandemic and quarantine time I have been navigating the good and the terrible in relation to my employment status and how I’m spending my time. I have been looking for a new, non-clinical job for about a year now. I have been working/practicing part-time since December 2019 and I didn’t anticipate/expect to be “underemployed” this long. There is tension within myself and my marriage regarding my career/work status. The good happening now is that I have the time to explore, read, think, and RIDE HORSES (!). I am trying very hard to use this time available to me to be curious about myself and listen to what I am telling myself. As Nance said this week – I am noticing that I am here with myself….and it is a powerful and comforting thing. Thank you for doing this Virtual VLE! It has come at the perfect time for me. I can’t wait to come to my first in-person VLE in 2021!!
